About Riddhi

Riddhi Vikamshi is a boundary-pushing vocalist, composer, producer and playback engineer from Nagpur, India, currently based in Boston, MA. With deep roots in Hindustani classical music and a fearless approach to sonic experimentation, Riddhi crafts a distinctive sound that exists at the intersection of tradition and innovation. Her work moves fluidly between styles, cultures, and disciplines, reflecting both the richness of her upbringing and her commitment to artistic evolution. Riddhi’s artistic journey began in Nagpur, surrounded by a family of visual artists and a vibrant cultural scene. She regularly attended intimate Mehfils and Indian classical concerts, experiences that instilled in her the discipline and emotional depth of the music. These early absorptions shaped her voice and artistic approach, leading her to view singing as a powerful form of storytelling. Her relationship with music deepened significantly during the 2020 lockdown when a curiosity with GarageBand evolved into a transformative creative pursuit. She soon moved to Logic Pro, allowing her to begin composing and producing her own material. Her 2023 debut single, Suno Morey Mohan, marked her emergence with a bold, reflective sonic identity, blending Indian classical elements with ambient textures and electronic soundscapes. In July 2024, Riddhi released Kaahe, a collaboration with fellow musicians Sumer Naik and Antony Mathew. This single is a groundbreaking fusion of Hindustani classical vocals and Latin rhythms, showcasing her ability to merge disparate traditions. The Indian Music Diaries praised the song, noting it "weaves together the rich tapestry of Hindustani classical music with the vibrant rhythms of Latin music" (2024). The track, recorded across multiple continents, is a vibrant exploration of longing and separation, lauded for its innovative approach and compelling storytelling. Riddhi is scheduled to release a 5-track EP TAABIIR with collaborators Sumer Naik and Antony Mathew later this year. Riddhi’s impact extends beyond her releases; she is a passionate cultural organizer. She established Baithak, a collaborative music initiative in Nagpur, which fosters connection and experimentation among musicians. She also launched India Music Fest, Central India’s first interactive music festival. Both platforms have become vital spaces for bridging gaps between genres, generations, and geographies. A seasoned performer, Riddhi has graced prominent stages, including the Berklee Performance Center, Fenway Center, Sofar Bombay, Tsai Performance Center, David Friend Recital Hall, and multiple TEDx events. This past January, she successfully completed the 5-show, fully crowdfunded TAABIIR India Tour with her trio. Of her global reach, Mid-Day Magazine noted that "The Boston-based student from Berklee College of Music is bringing countries across the world together" (2024). Whether on stage, in the studio, or curating community spaces, she creates work that is emotionally resonant, culturally rooted, and creatively expansive. Currently pursuing Electronic Production & Design at Berklee College of Music, Riddhi continues to refine her craft while pushing boundaries. She moves fluidly between roles: vocalist, composer, playback engineer, recording engineer, music producer, and collaborator on a range of independent projects. At the heart of her artistry is a quiet defiance: a refusal to be confined to a single category or genre. Through voice, technology, and community, Riddhi Vikamshi is not just making music, she is building a world where tradition and experimentation coexist in harmony.
